The World Food Day and food circumstances in Western Europe

I researched about what was happening in Western Europe and the UK related to the World Food Day. World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year worldwide on October 16 to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. I focused on Western Europe due to the World Food Day. One of the problems that are focused in Western Europe is the food wastes. There are 3 million tons of wastes and primary productions have been wasted. Most wastes comes from UK households. On the other hand there are many counter solution for food wastes. The governments of Western Europe have settled the food bank which is non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger-relief charities. Thus they also have suggest people to food compose the wastes to make alternative  fertilizer. More directly, France have been banned the food wastes by Law.

About Australian family and their food culture

I had a assignment about researching the family and food culture in certain country. I researched about Australian family and their food culture. Australia seems familiar to me because I have been there and spent for 3 weeks with my host family. However, it was very different than I thought. In Molloy family which I have researched love sea food. Although, it is mostly cooked and they eat shrimp and spiny lobster, which are very big compared to Japanese shrimp and lobster. Also, they spend most of their money buying fruits. On the other hand my family spends most of their money with meat, fish and eggs because there are many food fighters in my family (like me).     I also researched about Australian cuisine like vegimite, lamington, fish and chips and Aussie beef burger. Like mentioned before I have been to Australia so it was familiar for me.

Special lecture from Nadia

On December 1st, we had a special lecture     by Nadia Mckechnie about veganism. Nadia is a professional educational writer and voice-actor living and working in Tokyo, Japan. I felt her lecture was very fluent and easy to understand. Anyway,   she is a vegan who teaches people how good to become vegan for saving planet. At first, I had a image that be coming a vegan is a hard job. However, she teaches lots of alternative vegan products and stores. Also, she teaches how vegan reduces the resources. Although I think becoming a vegan is hard for me but I thought some day I can can be vegan as in short term to think about becoming eco for earth.
